Senior Corporate Affairs Specialist

Your Mission

This position is responsible for driving and supporting Hyundai Motor Group's public affairs and external engagement strategy in Singapore by building trusted relationships with diplomatic missions, public institutions, academia, and community stakeholders. The role serves as a key liaison for diplomatic and public-sector partnerships, supports high-profile Korean VIP visits and public diplomacy activities, and contributes to strengthening Hyundai Motor Group's reputation, social impact, and long-term presence in the region.

What To Expect

Diplomatic & Public Institution Relations

  • Build and manage strategic relationships with foreign diplomatic missions (embassies, high commissions, trade offices) based in Singapore, particularly those representing countries with strategic business interests and partnerships relevant to Hyundai Motor Group (especially with the Korean Embassy).
  • Act as a the primary point of contact for diplomatic protocol, courtesy engagements, and relationship cultivation with foreign missions.
  • Engage public institutions (e.g. museums, cultural bodies, non-regulatory public entities) on collaborative and reputational initiatives separate from formal regulatory or policy advocacy matters handled by the Government Affairs pillar.

 

VIP Visit Management & Public Diplomacy

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute visit programmes for high-profile Korean and international dignitaries, diplomats, government delegations, and senior business executives to the HMGICS facility.
  • Manage end-to-end visit logistics: protocol sequencing, itinerary design, briefing materials, interpretation needs, gifting, and on-site coordination with Facility Management, General Affairs, Public Relations, and Security teams.
  • Represent HMGICS at public diplomacy events, receptions, and bilateral relationship milestones (e.g., Korea–Singapore diplomatic anniversaries).

 

Academic & Institutional Partnerships

  • Cultivate strong relationships with universities, academic experts, key opinion leaders research institutes, business associations, and think tanks for non-commercial collaboration such as talks, campus engagements, internship pipelines, and knowledge-exchange programmes.
  • Support thought-leadership initiatives that position HMGICS as a partner of choice in innovation, sustainability, and future mobility education.

 

Community Engagement & Social Impact

  • Design, plan and execute CSR, sustainability, education and community engagement initiatives that align with and strengthen Hyundai Motor Group's reputation, ESG and social value commitments.
  • Build and manage partnerships with non-profits, cultural organizations, and community groups in Singapore.
  • Champion HMGICS' social impact narrative through on-ground community initiatives.

 

Reputation Management & Stakeholder Communications

  • Support the development of stakeholder briefing notes, talking points, and engagement collateral for department and company leadership.
  • Monitor and analyse external sentiment, stakeholder perceptions, and developments in Singapore relevant to HMGICS' public reputation, flagging risks and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with PR functions to ensure consistent public affairs messaging across all external touchpoints.

 

Event Management & External Representation

  • Plan and execute public affairs events, stakeholder forums, diplomatic receptions networking programs, cultural diplomacy engagements and outreach activities to enhance Hyundai Motor Group's external presence and stakeholder engagement.
  • Represent the company at relevant external forums, cultural associations, and non-commercial industry gatherings (distinct from business/commercial chambers covered under Business Development).

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, diplomatic engagement, corporate affairs, external relations, or related functions.
  • Proven experience working with public sector, quasi-government and non-profit organisations such as embassies, government agencies, international organizations, or public institutions.
  • Native or business-fluent Korean & English proficiency, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to support engagement with Hyundai Motor Group headquarters in South Korea and Korean diplomatic and VIP stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Hyundai Motor Group's business, future mobility ecosystem, and strategic priorities, with the ability to align external partnerships and public affairs initiatives with corporate objectives.
  • Ability to manage senior-level stakeholders, VIP visits, and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting International corporations abroad or working with International government-related organizations.
  • Existing network within diplomatic, public sector, academic, or industry communities in Singapore.
