Senior Robotics Engineer (AMR Mechatronics Design)
Your Mission
The Robotics Engineer (AMR Mechatronics Design) is responsible for developing innovative Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) solutions to optimize manufacturing processes at Hyundai. You will be involved in the research, development, and deployment of the best-suited AMR strategies and mechatronic solutions (i.e., mechatronic designs along with necessary peripherals) for Hyundai. You will collaborate with a talented team of researchers and engineers, contributing your expertise in mechatronic system design, building, testing, and analysis to push the boundaries of what the proposed solution can achieve.
What To Expect
- Initiate new ideas, strategies, and concepts for AMR solutions within Hyundai.
- Define mechatronic system specifications for bespoke robots to meet factory manufacturing process requirements.
- Produce mechatronic system designs for bespoke robots that meet system specifications while considering cost, manufacturing, and delivery timelines.
- Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and schematic diagrams for mechatronic systems of bespoke robots, from concept through development to final system deployment.
- Use hand calculations and/or computer simulations to validate designs throughout the system development process, backed by lab-based testing and validation.
- Develop and implement electronic/control circuits and/or algorithms for electromechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Build and assemble proof-of-concept (POC) prototypes, minimum viable product (MVP) prototypes, and final deployment robots using rapid prototyping and conventional manufacturing methods, integrating necessary mechanisms, sensors, actuators, and electronics.
- Devise test plans, create test rigs, conduct tests, and analyze test results for bespoke robot mechatronic systems to ensure they meet specifications.
- Review plans, progress, designs, and test results of bespoke robot mechatronic systems with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Liaise and coordinate tasks with external collaborators and vendors, with experience in handling third-party work.
- Document technical reports, system manuals, and file patents.
