Safety Officer

Your Mission

This position is responsible for providing Health, Safety and Environmental support within the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore. He/she will also be responsible with the implementation of safety and environmental policies and procedures within HMGICS manufacturing plant. 

What To Expect

  • Liaise closely with Manufacturing Heads on workplace safety, health and environmental issues to maintain a high level of safety at the sites.
  • Implementing and sustaining safety management in compliance to ISO45001, ISO14001 and SS 651:2019 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
  • Performing safety design review for the critical processes
  • Monitor safety and health aspect of all factory operations and workers safe work practices.
  • Conducting safety audit or inspection at worksite to ensure work practice comply with company safety policy and WSH act
  • Investigates accidents / incidents / dangerous occurrences and recommend remedial measures to prevent any recurrences.
  • Preparing and scheduling training to cover emergency preparedness exercise, workplace safety and other relevant safety topics.
  • Advise risk assessment for all departments and maintain high level of safety and housekeeping at site.
  • Backup as safety officer to support safety operation activities (e.g. Validate risk work plan and other permits for non-routine activities)
  • Plan, Administer and implement safety policy and safety procedures in compliance with local safety regulations.
  • Familiarize with 3rd party Audit requirements and make preparation for the Audit.
  • Ensure compliance of operations with Workplace Safety and Health Act and all its subsidiary and statutory legal legislations.
  • Any other duties and responsibility as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering/ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health Safety/ Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C)
  • Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (RSO)
  • 2 years of relevant working experience in any industry (preferably manufacturing)
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, regulations, ISO45001 and ISO14001 and industry best practises
  • Familiar with construction site safety inspections and regulations.
