Safety Coordinator

Your Mission

This position is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Workplace Safety, Health, and Environmental (WSH) performance at HMGICS. The Safety Coordinator ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, and supports safe operations through effective coordination of safety programs, training, budgeting, and resource management.

What To Expect

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Workplace Safety & Health Management System (WSHMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Coordinate safety training, induction, awareness programs, and maintain competency records for employees and contractors.
  • Manage PPE requisition, issuance, inventory, and safety equipment availability.
  • Support occupational health monitoring, mental wellbeing initiatives, and hazardous chemical management.
  • Assist in incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, and follow-up closure.
  • Support internal/external audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, and CERT support.
  • Prepare and monitor the safety operational expenditure (OPEX) budget, including PPE, training, and equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare supplementary budget requests for unplanned safety-related expenditures.
  • Plan and allocate manpower, PPE, and safety resources based on operational risks and business needs.

What You'll Bring

  • Diploma in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant safety coordination or EHS experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of WSH regulations, risk assessment, and PTW systems.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Capability in budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
