Your Mission
This position is responsible for designing / developing a robot operating system (ROS) that can enhance autonomous control (driving, motion, situation determination, etc.) applied to industrial robots. He/she will also be working on technical development with global technical support organization (include HQ and affiliates).
What To Expect
- Obtain/analyze operational data of transport robots such as AMR/AGV
- Develop a universal SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) function that can be applied to various robots
- Develop an optimal path finding function and recognition of obstacles around based on metadata (factory 3D map, etc.)
- Develop micro adjustment of the robot's work location based on metadata (3D vehicle/component data, etc.)
- Identify the cause of the failure to recognize the robot's workplace and identify software-required technologies/data
- Analyze the causes of operational errors of factory-operated industrial robots (including acquisition/analysis of operational data)
- Derive and develop software error resolution and functional improvement measures
- Identify items that utilize metadata (various 3D data: factories, products, facilities, etc.) to improve robot functions
What You'll Bring
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Computer Engineering or relevant disciplines
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in operating and improving mobile robot software (AMR, AGV, etc.)
- Technical skills in SLAM and ROS development
- Technical skills in analyzing data created from robot using statistical tools/programs
- Understanding in automotive manufacturing process & technology is a plus
