Project Planner

Your Mission

This position will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all HMGICS CorpLab projects, ensuring alignment with CorpLab’s strategic objectives in advanced automotive manufacturing. You will balance strategic project management, governance, and technical insight to effectively guide and support engineering and research teams. By facilitating seamless collaboration and providing actionable data-driven insights, you will contribute to CorpLab’s long-term innovation goals in robotics, AI, and automation.

What To Expect

1. Comprehensive Project Management & Governance

  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives set by the Governing and Management Boards.
  • Operate CorpLab’s governance framework, consolidate discussion agendas, and anticipate technical or administrative challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Project Managers (PMs) to maintain project efficiency and timely delivery.

 

2. Direction Coordination under Co-Director Guidance

  • Coordinate project directions and prioritize tasks based on the Co-Director’s guidance and strategic goals.
  • Regularly report consolidated project progress and key issues to provide insights for management decision-making.
  • Facilitate discussions between Co-Directors and project teams to ensure alignment with yearly development targets.

 

3. Technical Support & Issue Resolution

  • Address and resolve obstacles related to technical feasibility, project timelines, and resource constraints.
  • Monitor risks and implement corrective measures to keep project milestones on track.

 

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Communicate with all project stakeholders (NTU, A*STAR, HMGICS, Hyundai KIA HQ), providing comprehensive, data-driven updates on project performance, challenges, and achievements.
  • Coordinate with external and internal teams to ensure that project goals and expectations are transparent and shared across Corp Lab.

 

5. Data-Driven Decision-Making & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage data analysis to track project metrics, monitor resource allocation, and adjust strategies to optimize project outcomes.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to refine project management practices and enhance operational efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • Master’s or Ph.D. Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering, Robotics, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in technical fields (e.g., robotics, automation) is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of R&D project experience in Robotics and AI.
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Experience in automotive or advanced manufacturing industries, particularly with robotics, AI, or automation technologies, is preferred.
  • Proven track record operating project boards (e.g., Governing Board, Management Board).
  • Project Management Expertise
    • Proficient in project scheduling, resource management, risk assessment, and governance reporting.
    • Experienced in managing projects with a governance framework, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and board expectations.
  • Technical Insight
    • Broad understanding of robotics (e.g., mobile and manipulation systems, computer vision) and virtual robot simulation in manufacturing.
    • Familiarity with assembly and surface quality inspection using multi-modal AI is a plus.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Ability to generate actionable insights through data analysis and reporting.
    • Skilled in project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Jira) and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).
    • Proficiency in analytics tools like Excel or Python.
  • Certifications
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Additional certifications in robotics or automation are advantageous.
  • Technical Tools
    • Experience with CAD, simulation, or digital twin software is a plus.
    • Proficiency in analytics tools (Excel, Python) to suppo0rt data-driven management.
