Process Innovation Consultant, Industrial Automation
Your Mission
This position plays a key role in advancing automated manufacturing capabilities. You will work closely with site automation engineers to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies that automate and optimize manufacturing processes. You will also be responsible for managing the IIoT connectivity framework and deployment strategies across Operational Technology (OT) environments based on the ISA-95 architecture, spanning field devices, edge computing platforms, middleware, and cloud environments.
What To Expect
Development of Technology Roadmap
- Support the planning and implementation of the technology roadmap in collaboration with factory stakeholders.
- Support and manage digital transformation use cases and the technology catalog related to IIoT connectivity and edge devices.
Work Process Management & Pain Point Identification
- Manage multiple OT projects and related activities from project initiation through completion, including post-project reviews and lessons learned.
- Develop, prepare, monitor, and document project performance and related activities.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Define methodologies and detailed work processes to continuously measure performance and project ROI for IoT solutions, including industrial control systems and software applications.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders within the manufacturing organization to gather data and develop insights into critical pain points related to OT connectivity governance and frameworks.
- Contribute to OT automation initiatives and Software-Defined Factory roadmaps aimed at increasing connectivity across brownfield manufacturing environments.
OT & Industrial Automation
- Possess a strong understanding of IT/OT architectures based on ISA-95 and fundamental OT cybersecurity concepts, including asset management, network segmentation, and remote access.
- Demonstrate knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and middleware platforms.
- Understand industrial communication protocols, including TCP/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, MQTT, HTTP/REST APIs, and OPC UA.
- Have hands-on experience deploying and managing edge devices across both brownfield and greenfield factory environments at local and regional levels.
- Experience developing technical deployment playbooks and methodologies for connecting assets and systems to IIoT platforms.
- Technology Solution Deployment & Change Management
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous innovation.
- Provide project management support to operations teams during solution implementation.
- Monitor performance improvements following deployment and ensure a smooth handover to production teams.
- Lead change management initiatives by working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5–7 years of experience in Management Consulting, Business Process Re-engineering, ICT Consulting, Process Innovation, Business Consulting, or Systems Consulting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience delivering process innovation consulting projects and IT/OT system connectivity initiatives.
- Working experience in the manufacturing industry or a strong understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Experience with data analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) implementations.
- Experience working on project teams responsible for digital application development and IIoT connectivity solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
