Process Engineer (Module)

Your Mission

This position is responsible for managing, innovating, and improving electric vehicle cell assembly techniques through process improvements. You will also manage smart manufacturing assistance systems to facilitate the production of quality products. You will also support both HMGICS and Depot in process engineering.

What To Expect

[Cell Assembly Process Engineering]

  • Develop, maintain, and improve documentation (assembly methods, standard operating procedures, specification tables, etc.) for existing model/module assembly sequences and techniques
  • Work with NPI to facilitate new car introductions into the assembly line
  • Develop on-the-job training and work proficiency improvement plans for technicians
  • Innovate and implement smart manufacturing technology through collaboration with the Innovation Group and external parties
  • Manage and do Level 1 troubleshooting for cells
  • Manage various HMGICS proprietary systems as a Superuser
  • Develop/improve jigs and fixtures used in the assembly line

 

[Process Improvement]

  • Analyze manufacturing data/defect records for continuous improvement identification and implementation
    • Monitor records and develop line balancing strategies
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement for cost and quality
  • Optimize workflow and allocation of work in each manufacturing process using Lean practices
    • Optimize workflow of each cell and labor required to each cell

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a production environment, operating and innovating cell manufacturing processes and techniques, analyzing manufacturing equipment-related data, etc.
  • Technical skills in examining manufacturing techniques and conducting Design Process Automation (DPA) using AutoCAD and CATIA
  • Technical skills in analyzing data on workability, workload, lead time, and proficiency records
  • Understanding of manufacturing process optimization/Lean concepts
  • Understanding of Plant Automation and Robotics/PLC systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office
