Partnerships Specialist (Government Affairs)
Your Mission
This position is responsible for supporting Hyundai Motor Group's new business engagements with the Singapore Government and public sectors, including defense-related initiatives, as part of the broader government affairs and public policy strategy for Singapore. The role will work closely with Singapore-based public stakeholders, including the Singapore Government, public and industry associations/entities, and foreign delegations, to strengthen HMGICS's strategic partnerships and support business objectives.
What To Expect
- Monitor and anticipate political, regulatory, and geopolitical developments that could create opportunities or risks for the company.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to develop policy positions for Hyundai Motor Group and HMGICS across various areas of interest, including but not limited to electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and defense.
- Manage relationships with government bodies and public/industry associations, and represent the company in these engagements.
- Participate in market-specific industry associations and manage coalition positions in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with Legal, PR, and other relevant teams on active policy and regulatory matters.
- Lead cross-functional teams in drafting comprehensive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations to Tender (ITTs).
- Serve as the point of contact for key regulators, government officials, representatives, and, where necessary, foreign governments.
- Act as the primary interface with government regulatory and defense agencies, procurement officers, and military stakeholders to understand product requirements.
- Engage with business partners and HQ global policy teams to develop engagement strategies to influence policy.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the government or public sector.
- Experience in defense sales or the military would be an added advantage, preferably involving weapon systems or vehicle technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and structure new problem spaces.
- Comfortable operating between strategy development and hands-on delivery.
- Deep understanding of the defense acquisition lifecycle and local/international defense regulations.
- Experience supporting procurement and contract management.
