Part Development Specialist
Your Mission
This position is responsible for ensuring effective procurement activities, including supplier qualification, sourcing setup, price management, part approval management, part preparation for trial events and mass production, and part quality monitoring to support company productivity.
What To Expect
- New supplier identification to support business needs such as price competitiveness, sustainability of supply, and localization expansion.
- Establish contract/agreement discussions with suppliers.
- Manage the part development process after finalizing sourcing, including tooling kick-off, part sample trials, part sample approval, and part supply for trial events and mass production.
- Manage information in the system, including new supplier registration, sourcing and price updates, and EO management.
- Involvement in part quality discussions and support communication with suppliers to establish countermeasures for part quality issues.
- Manage periodical price adjustments caused by raw material fluctuations, exchange rates, and other factors.
- Provide part cost per vehicle calculations based on periodical price management.
- Promote cost reduction discussions with suppliers to enhance price competitiveness.
- Manage ad hoc duties beyond procurement responsibilities, such as working in partnership with government/institutions, addressing supply shortages, and reviewing certain policies and regulations.
- Build effective and efficient communication with other stakeholders, such as quality, manufacturing, and production planning teams to promote ideas, suggestions, or solutions.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing and part development
- Experience in the automotive industry or part manufacturing
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection, stamping, extrusion, and casting
