Mobile Robot Operations Engineer
Your Mission
This position is responsible for overseeing fleets of mobile robots in a manufacturing environment, ensuring they meet productivity KPIs such as on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery to production cells and achieving a pre-defined vehicle per hour production target. The role involves understanding various suppliers' mobile robot platforms and conducting troubleshooting, as well as optimizing traffic on mobile robots with different AGV / AMR Control Systems (ACSs).
What To Expect
Deployment
- Plan and execute fleet deployment based on production targets.
- Modify deployment dynamically as required by operational circumstances to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery.
Strategy and operations
- Recommend robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Identify causes of operational performance losses (OEE / performance management) and propose corrective actions (process, technology, organization).
- Assist engineers in designing, configuring, or applying robotic systems.
- Train robots to perform simple and complex tasks, such as a series of iterative tests for material transportation.
Maintenance
- Perform initial troubleshooting of robotic systems (e.g., microprocessors, PLCs, electronics, mechanics, feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics) and escalate to engineers when needed.
- Schedule and perform corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
- Disassemble and reassemble robots or peripheral equipment for repairs, such as replacing defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.
- Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
- Test the performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
- Build or assemble robotic devices or systems.
- Assemble equipment or components.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant disciplines
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with mobile robots or fleet management of mobile equipment (e.g., prime movers, cranes, etc.).
- Basic understanding of ROS-based software and/or embedded systems for mobile equipment.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering.
- Ability to identify and suggest improvements to inefficiencies in operations.
- Ability to comprehend software aspects.
- Ability to work in an ever-changing agile environment.
