Material Planning & Inventory Control Engineer

Your Mission

This position is responsible for ensuring that the right materials are available in the right quantity, quality, and at the right time and cost to support production requirements, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and achieving company KPIs related to delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and material cost control.

What To Expect

1. Material Planning & Control

• Plan and monitor requirements for raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables based on production schedules and customer demand.
• Generate, review, and manage material requirement plans.
• Ensure material availability to prevent production disruptions and stoppages.
• Coordinate closely with the Production Planning, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to support production needs.

2. Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Analyze inventory turnover and monitor excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.
• Conduct regular inventory reconciliation and cycle-counting activities.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and data integrity within the ERP system.

3. Supplier Coordination

• Follow up with suppliers on delivery schedules, material availability, and shortages.
• Monitor suppliers' on-time delivery performance and address potential supply risks.
• Coordinate corrective actions to mitigate late deliveries and supply disruptions.
• Support supplier performance evaluation and continuous improvement activities.

4. Warehouse & Logistics Coordination

• Ensure the timely receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
• Coordinate inbound material schedules with warehouse personnel.
• Monitor material storage conditions and inventory movement in accordance with FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Support inbound logistics planning and material flow optimization.

5. Production Support

• Review daily production plans and verify material readiness.
• Expedite critical materials to support urgent production requirements.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) related to material changes and implementation.
• Support new product launches through effective material planning and preparation.

6. Reporting & KPI Management

• Monitor and report key supply chain and inventory KPIs, including inventory accuracy, stock availability, inventory turnover, and supplier delivery performance.
• Analyze material planning and inventory data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards for management review and decision-making.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning, inventory control, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Material Planning, Inventory Control, Production Planning, or Supply Chain Management.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Power Query.
• Good understanding of shipping processes, logistics operations, and supply chain risks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
