Head of IT Infrastructure

Your Mission

HMGICS serves as our core manufacturing testbed, focused on creating a cutting-edge, software-defined factory for the autonomous and flexible production of future mobility solutions. Within the Technology Innovation Group, the IT Infrastructure Solutions Team monitors and provides strategic direction for enterprise IT solutions and architecture.

 

This position is responsible for managing and leading the IT Infrastructure Solutions Team, ensuring compliance with global IT policies, and providing leadership across internal functions including IT Infrastructure, DevOps, Enterprise Applications (ERP), and Cybersecurity.

What To Expect

  • Manage the IT Infrastructure Solutions team, ensuring the corporate IT infrastructure is operationally ready, resilient, reliable, and scalable. The scope includes servers, networks, databases, storage, and cloud IT infrastructure architecture.

  • Be accountable for defining and improving methods for configuration management, incident management, change management, problem management, service level management, and IT service continuity management.

  • Ensure that all data, network access, and systems are secure and protected.

  • Update, develop, and implement IT infrastructure policies, SOPs, and work instructions relevant to NCS.

  • Ensure platform compliance, reliability, and uptime according to agreed SLAs.

  • Maintain and support technical issues handled by the team.

  • Perform regular system backups.

  • Study current systems, identify areas that need improvement or overhaul, and implement necessary changes.

  • Oversee and determine timeframes for major IT infrastructure projects, including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.

  • Evolve the operational tooling framework toward automation, reduction of repetitive manual tasks, proactive monitoring and incident detection, and system self-repair.

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for IT operations and maintenance that align with the organization's overall business objectives.

  • Establish and manage budgets, resource allocation, and performance goals for IT operations and maintenance.

  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of IT systems, networks, data centers, and other infrastructure components.

  • Ensure the highest level of system availability and performance while minimizing downtime and disruptions.

  • Establish and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard data and systems.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, and manage security audits and assessments.

  • Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to prevent data loss and ensure the continuity of critical operations.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10–15 years of experience leading IT infrastructure operations and maintenance teams, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proficiency in IT infrastructure, network administration, system management, and security best practices. Familiarity with the organization's specific technology stack is a significant advantage.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills to effectively lead diverse IT teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex IT issues and make strategic decisions aligned with organizational goals.

  • Understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements, with the ability to implement and maintain appropriate measures.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP) are preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK) and the ability to articulate controls and security mechanisms within a risk assessment–centered approach.

  • Good understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, TSN).

  • Strong understanding of identity management (e.g., SSO, OAuth, IDAM).

  • Familiarity with cloud networking and providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
