Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist

Your Mission

This position is responsible for managing investments necessary for the operation of HMGICS’s R&D organization, R&D projects, and Customer Experience Space (CX) operations. Additionally, it includes discussing and analyzing investment budgets and costs with HQ, including determining budget amounts and settling investment costs on a monthly basis.

What To Expect

  • Oversee R&D and CX budget management and deliberation processes, including refining the deliberation system and updating company manuals for new projects in alignment with HQ guidelines.
  • Secure and manage budgets with HQ, overseeing the end-to-end settlement process for indirect costs in R&D and CX activities, and ensuring accurate forecasting, execution, and variance control.
  • Review and monitor operating and investment expenditures, ensuring compliance with Hyundai’s policies and the timely completion of monthly settlements.
  • Lead budgeting and settlement management for the Customer Experience Space by validating investment adequacy, monitoring expense efficiency, and ensuring alignment with HQ directives.
  • Enhance and manage the costing system related to R&D and MR&D operations to improve data accuracy, traceability, and cost transparency.
  • Support R&D project management by assessing task relevance, investment effectiveness, and resource utilization to improve ROI visibility.
  • Serve as the key financial liaison between HQ and HMGICS, facilitating prompt communication and decision-making regarding budget approvals, settlements, and ad-hoc financial requests. 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing R&D projects related to manufacturing technology.
  • Experience in establishing new processes for managing R&D projects.
  • Prior experience in a financial accounting role, with knowledge of IFRS, SFRS, or GAAP and their application, would be advantageous.
  • Technical skills in actual cost settlement using the SAP system.
  • Technical skills in analyzing cost structures and manufacturing costs.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and the rational allocation of costs.
  • Proficiency in English and Korean to communicate with stakeholders in the Singapore entity and
    headquarters in South Korea.
