Equipment & Automation Systems Engineer
Your Mission
This position is responsible for optimizing equipment performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets, meet quality standards, and improve operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical expertise in industrial automation systems, PLC programming, and equipment control systems, as well as database management skills, including SQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI is essential to support performance monitoring, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve overall manufacturing productivity.
What To Expect
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment, automation systems, and control machinery to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and Sequence (SEQ) control logic to support manufacturing requirements and equipment improvements.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability, productivity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and process validation activities.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize equipment failures and production downtime.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Utilize industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, sensors, servo drives, and control networks, for equipment monitoring and process control.
- Manage and support manufacturing databases, including SQL, MySQL, and Oracle, to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and operational reporting.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, dashboards, and data analysis tools to support equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize Power BI and other analytical tools to visualize equipment performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with Production, Process, and Quality teams to optimize machine performance, material flow, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S to improve equipment performance and production processes.
- Provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns and technical issues during production, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, electrical schematics, equipment control specifications, and database-related documentation.
- Perform ad hoc technical assignments, troubleshooting activities, and improvement projects as required by management.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong SEQ (Sequence Control) logic development and debugging skills.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Experience in database management, query development, data analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Power BI or other data visualization and business intelligence tools.
- Experience with SCADA, HMI, and industrial automation systems.
- Strong equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) skills.
- Experience in manufacturing process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S principles.
- Ability to support production through rapid response to equipment and system issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in handling ad hoc tasks, troubleshooting activities, and special projects assigned by management.
