Database Administrator
Your Mission
This position is responsible for operating and administering various database systems while supporting manufacturing systems such as MES, logistics, and facility management.
What To Expect
- Assist in daily database administration activities across PostgreSQL, MS SQL, MariaDB, and Oracle platforms.
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Server databases in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Set up and manage disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including replication, clustering, log shipping, and failover strategies.
- Assist with database upgrade planning, testing, and implementation.
- Knowledge of time-series databases such as InfluxDB is an added advantage.
- Implement and maintain high availability (HA), RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate solutions, and database clusters.
- Perform hands-on database backups and recovery procedures.
- Work closely with technical and application teams to implement database management and support tools for complex business applications in line with the latest enterprise strategies.
- Optimize database performance through tuning and best practices.
- Implement security measures and access controls.
- Troubleshoot errors and system failures, including debugging, log analysis, and system enhancements.
- Report system status on time.
- Provide technical advice to production, logistics, and quality managers for decision-making related to manufacturing systems.
- Receive user requests for system modifications or new functionalities and evaluate their feasibility.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in database administration.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS, including PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle, and MariaDB.
- Understanding of cloud database services, such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.
- Proficiency in PaaS technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Jenkins, and Harbor.
- Experience with automation and control systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows, Linux, OpenStack, VMware, and backup solutions, primarily in SAP and OpenStack cloud environments.
- Experience with Clusterware and native backup solutions.
- Advanced SQL skills to assist application teams.
- Expertise in backup, recovery, and failover methods following industry best practices.
- Good understanding of database security best practices.
- Experience with SQL Server security frameworks and Active Directory integration.
- Familiarity with VMware and SAN storage systems.
- Strong scripting skills in Linux & Windows shell scripting and batch processing.
- Ability to write clear documentation for operating procedures and security specifications.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to follow structured methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
- Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle (SDLC) practices.
