CI/Lean Engineer

Your Mission

This position is responsible for driving operational excellence and process optimization across our advanced manufacturing and R&D initiatives. The CI/Lean Expert will apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality through Continuous Improvement and Digital Transformation projects, in alignment with Hyundai’s vision for innovation and sustainability.

What To Expect

  • Lead CI projects and baseline events to optimize assembly processes, supply chain logistics, and product quality, with a focus on electric vehicle (EV) assembly and data-driven factory systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DX, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.) to resolve bottlenecks and implement solutions aligned with QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) KPIs.
  • Analyze manufacturing data (e.g., cycle times, defect rates, equipment efficiency) using statistical and data analysis tools to identify root causes and validate improvements.
  • Mentor and train teams across the Manufacturing Innovation Group (MIG) on Lean Six Sigma principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Support the integration of AI, IoT, and automation into assembly processes to advance Hyundai’s smart factory initiatives.
  • Prepare reports for leadership, showcasing project outcomes such as cost savings, reduced downtime, and enhanced production throughput.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on Lean Six Sigma experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably with exposure to smart factory systems
  • Proven success in delivering projects with measurable impact (e.g., 20%+ cost reduction, 15%+ cycle time improvement)
