Accounting Specialist, Fixed Asset (1 Year Contract)

Your Mission

This position is responsible for the maintenance of fixed asset ledgers, ensuring the accurate recording and tracking of asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation, while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

What To Expect

  • Maintain records of existing fixed assets, including details such as descriptions, locations and cost centers
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure proper capitalization of assets
  • Conduct periodic physical asset verifications and ensure that all assets are properly tagged
  • Clear the Assets under Construction balance promptly to ensure that all assets that are in use are capitalised in a timely manner
  • Approve Autoway requests for investment and operating expenditures
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare reports for budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis support
  • Prepare schedules for grant receivables
  • Prepare fixed asset-related journal entries, including adjustments, reclassifications, and disposal entries
  • Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, customers and external auditors on finance-related matters
  • Support the financial operations of the business and handle ad hoc finance and administrative duties as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in the manufacturing industry is an advantage
  • Experience working with SAP systems is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
