Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Your Mission

This position is responsible for executing both corrective and preventive maintenance activities within HMGICS' smart factory. It also involves managing and supervising contractors and vendors to ensure that all preventive maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational standards.

What To Expect

  • Core responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as conducting daily inspections on mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify and rectify machine abnormalities.
  • Strictly adhere to planned maintenance activities to achieve target downtime ratios for equipment and production modules.
  • Communicate machine-related issues clearly with engineers, contractors, and vendors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports for shift handovers.
  • Demonstrate strong field leadership when managing and supervising contractors, ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and correctly the first time.
  • Take full accountability for assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring they are carried out diligently from start to finish.
  • Be prepared to work rotating day and night shifts, overtime, and respond to urgent tasks during weekends or holidays, especially during commissioning phases.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, logistics) to understand daily challenges and provide necessary support.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement projects.

What You'll Bring

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Higher Nitec/Nitec in Mechanical Technology, Automotive, or related disciplines.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience, with prior experience in mechanical machine maintenance preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and the ability to sketch plan, side, and top elevation views.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as vernier calipers, outer diameter micrometers, and inner diameter micrometers.
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, bearings, vibration monitoring, and greasing is a plus.
  • Hands-on approach and comfort with maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical general assembly drawings and cross-sectional diagrams.
  • Possession of a driver’s license is a bonus.
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and AutoCAD.
